• Function 

1.Storing pressurized fluid: The accumulator contains a pre-charged gas chamber (typically nitrogen, an inert gas that won’t react with hydraulic fluid) separated from a fluid chamber by a piston, bladder, or diaphragm. When the hydraulic system pressure rises above the accumulator’s pre-charge pressure (e.g., during peak pump output), fluid is forced into the accumulator, compressing the gas. This stores excess hydraulic energy.

2.Supplementing pump output: During high-demand moments (e.g., when an excavator lifts a heavy load and swings its upper structure simultaneously), the hydraulic pump may struggle to supply enough fluid to maintain pressure. The accumulator releases stored, pressurized fluid to the system, "assisting" the pump. This prevents pressure drops that would slow down operations or cause component hesitation.
